Policies are written to assist in organizational direction and are an integral part of any education system. Go to the federal Department of Education website or your state Department of Education website and search for education policies.

For Module 1: Reading Policy. Identify and discuss two current education policies. Describe the policies in detail using the following checklist. Be sure to include an explanation of each of the following policy checklist components.
- Policy State
- Policy Name, Number and Date Policy Was Enacted
- Target Audience (What group (leaders, teachers, students, parents) is the policy focused on?)
- One-paragraph summary of the policy.
- Are there any sub-policies that are included?
- Identify any implementation issues that could arise as the policy is written.
